Practice Level
This pattern is practiced by the 3rd Dan Black Belt
in preparation for their testing for 4th Dan Black Belt

Korean Pronunciation:

        Yu-Sin teul

Pattern History: Yu-Sin  [庾信] is named after General Kim Yu-sin, a commanding general during the Silla Dynasty.  The 68 movements refer to the last two figures of 668 A.D., the year Korea was united.  The ready posture signifies a sword drawn on the right rather than left side, symbolizing Yu-Sin’s mistake of following his King's orders to fight with foreign forces against his own nation.

Number of Movements:  68

Pattern Diagram:

Step-by-Step Description of Movements:

The pattern begins when the instructor commands the student to come to attention (cha-ryeot). When given this command, assume an Attention Stance on the X on the AB line, facing D.  This is followed by the instructor stating the pattern that the student will perform (Yu-Sin teul).

On the command to assume the ready position (jun-bi), move the left foot to B to form a Warrior Ready Stance type B toward D.  Remain in this warrior ready stance type B toward D until given the command to begin the pattern.

When the command to begin the pattern is given (si-jak), perform the following individual movements in sequence.  The
