Step-by-Step Description of Movements:
The pattern begins when the instructor commands the student to come to attention (cha-ryeot). When given this command, assume an Attention Stance on the X on the AB line, facing D. This is followed by the instructor stating the pattern that the student will
perform (Juche teul).
On the command to assume the ready position (jun-bi), move the left foot to B to form a Parallel Stance with a Twin Side Elbow toward D. Remain in this parallel stance with a twin side elbow toward D until given the command to
begin the pattern.
When the command to begin the pattern is given (si-jak), perform the following individual movements in sequence. The pattern should be performed according to the Guidelines listed in General Choi Hong
Hi's Encyclopedia of Taekwon-Do, and presented in the section on essential points
in performing patterns.
1. Move the left foot to B to form a sitting
stance toward D, while executing (full facing)
a parallel block with the inner forearms.
2. Standing up toward D, execute (full facing)
a middle hooking block to D with
the right palm.
3. Drop down to form a
sitting stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a
middle front punch to D with the left forefist.
4. Pull the right reverse footsword
to the left knee joint to form a left one-leg stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a parallel block with
the outer forearms.
5. Execute a middle side piercing kick
to A with the right footsword. Then, pivoting on
the ball of the left foot and turning clockwise, execute a high reverse hook kick
to B with the back heel of the right foot consecutively, keeping the position
of the hands for both kicks as they were in move 4 above (a parallel block with
the outer forearms). Perform
these kicking techniques in a slow motion, and perform both
techniques included in this move in a consecutive kicking motion.
6. Lower
the right foot toward B in a jumping motion (about one shoulder width toward
B), landing to form a right X-stance toward F, while executing (side facing) a side downward
strike to B with the right backfist. Perform this
move in a jumping motion.
7. Execute consecutively,
a middle hooking kick to F with the side instep of
the left foot, while holding the arms up naturally with both side fists
toward F.
Then execute a high side piercing kick
to F with the left
footsword, while
pulling both fists in front of the chest. Perform
both kicking techniques included in this move in
a consecutive kicking motion.
8. Lower the left foot to F in a stamping
motion to form a sitting stance toward
B, while executing
(side facing) a high outward crosscut to
F with the left flat fingertip. Perform this
move in a stamping motion.
9. Pivot on the balls of
both feet to form a left walking stance toward BF, while executing (reverse half facing) a high strike to BF with the right elbow, pressing the right side fist with the left
finger belly.
10.
Cross the left foot over the right foot to form a right X-stance toward B, while
executing (full facing) a
low front block to B with the left reverse knifehand,
bringing the right finger belly on the left back forearm.
11. Move
the right foot to A to form a left L-stance toward A, while executing (half facing) a middle
knifehand guarding block to A.
12. While jumping toward A (about one and a
half shoulder widths) and spinning counterclockwise,
execute a 180o
mid-air strike to
A with the left knifehand. Then
land facing toward A, while forming a right L-stance toward A with
the left arm slightly bent and extended toward A. Perform this
move in a jumping motion.
13. Move the right foot to A to form a sitting stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a parallel block with the inner forearms.
14.
Standing up toward D, execute (full facing) a middle hooking block to D with
the left palm.
15.
Drop down to form a sitting stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a
middle front punch to D with the right forefist.
16. Pull the left reverse footsword to the
right knee joint to form a right one-leg stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a parallel block with
the outer forearms.
17. Execute a middle side piercing kick to
B with the left footsword. Then, on
the ball of the right foot and turning counterclockwise, execute a high pivoting
reverse hook kick to A with the back heel of the left foot consecutively,
keeping
the position of the hands for both kicks as they were in move 16
above (a parallel block with the outer forearms). Perform
these kicking techniques a slow motion, and perform both kicking
techniques included in this move in a consecutive kicking motion.
18. Move
the left foot toward A in a jumping motion (about one shoulder width toward
A), landing to form a left X-stance toward E, while executing (side facing) a side downward
strike to A with the left backfist. Perform this
move in a jumping motion.
19. Execute consecutively, a middle hooking
kick to E with the side instep of
the right foot, while holding the arms up naturally with both side fists
toward
E. Then execute
a high side piercing kick with the right footsword to E,
while pulling
both fists in front of the chest. Perform both
kicking techniques included in this move in
a consecutive kicking motion.
20.

a high strike to AE with the left elbow,
pressing the left side fist with the right finger belly.
