pseudonym of Son Byong-Hi, leader of the Korean independence movement on March 1, 1919. The 45 movements refer to his
age when he changed the name of Donghak (Oriental culture) to Cheondogyo (Heavenly Way Religion) in 1905. The diagram

Step-by-Step Description of Movements: The pattern begins when the instructor
commands the student to come to attention (cha-ryeot). When given this command, assume an Attention Stance on the X on the AB line,
facing D. This is followed by the instructor stating the pattern that the student will perform (Eui-Am teul).
On the command to assume the ready position (jun-bi), move the left foot to B to form a Close Ready Stance type D toward D. Remain in this close ready stance type D until given the command to begin the
pattern.
When
the command to begin the pattern is given (si-jak), perform the following individual movements in sequence.
The pattern should be performed according to the Guidelines listed in General Choi Hong
Hi's Encyclopedia of Taekwon-Do, and presented in the section on essential points
in performing patterns. 1. Move the
right foot to C to form a left walking stance toward D, while executing (full facing) a low inward block to D with the right knifehand,
pulling the left side fist in front of the
right shoulder. 2.
Move the left foot to C to form
a right walking stance toward D, while executing
(reverse half facing) a high side block to D with the left outer forearm.
3. While maintaining a right walking stance toward D, execute a middle front punch (full facing) to
D with the right forefist.
4. Execute a low twisting kick to D with the ball of the left foot, keeping the position
of the hands as they were in move 3 above (a punch with the right forefist).
5. Lower the left foot to D to form a left walking stance toward D, while executing
(full facing)
a downward block to D with an X-fist. Perform moves 5 and 6 in a continuous motion.
6. While
maintaining a left walking stance toward D, execute a rising block (full facing)
to D with the right knifehand.
7. Move the right foot toward D in a jumping motion (about one and a half shoulder widths in front
of the left foot), landing to form a right X-stance
toward BD, while executing (half facing) a
high side strike to D with the right backfist, bringing the left finger belly to the right side fist. Perform this move in jumping motion.
8. Move the left foot to C to form a right L-stance toward C, while executing (half facing) a middle punch to C with the left forefist.
9. Execute a middle reverse turning kick to AC with the back heel of the right foot,
while holding the arms up naturally with both side fists
toward AC. 10. Lower the right foot to C in a stamping motion to form a sitting stance toward A, while executing (side
facing) a middle side strike to C with the right knifehand. Perform this move in a stamping
motion.
11. While pivoting on the
ball of the right foot and turning clockwise, execute a middle
side piercing kick to C with the left footsword. At the same time, pulling both
hands
in the opposite direction to the right side, with the left side
fist on the
right under
fist.
12. Lower the left foot to C to form a left walking stance toward C, while executing (full facing)
a high crescent punch with the
right forefist.
13. Pull the right foot toward the left foot to form a parallel stance toward C, while
executing
(full facing) a middle turning punch with the left forefist.
Perform this move in a slow motion.
14. Move the left foot to D to form a right walking stance toward C, while executing (full facing) a
low inward block with the left knifehand, pulling the right side fist in
front of the left shoulder.
15. Move the right foot to D to form a left walking stance toward C, at the same time executing
(reverse half facing) a high side block to C with the right outer forearm.
16. While
maintaining a left walking stance toward C, execute a middle front punch (full facing) to C with the left forefist.
17. Execute a low twisting kick to C with the ball of the right foot, keeping the position
of the hands as
they were in move 16 above (a punch with the left forefist).
18. Lower the right foot to C to form a right walking stance toward C, while executing
(full facing) a
downward block to C with an X-fist. Perform moves 18 and 19 in a continuous motion.
19. While maintaining a right walking stance toward C, execute a rising block (full facing) to C with the left knifehand.
20. Move the left foot toward C in a jumping motion (about one and a half shoulder

both hands in the opposite direction to the left side, with
the right side fist on the left under fist.
25. Lower the right
foot to D to form a right walking stance toward D, while executing
(full facing) a high crescent punch with the left forefist.
26. Pull the left foot toward the right foot to form a parallel stance toward D,
while executing a middle turning punch (full facing) with the right
forefist.
Perform this move in a slow motion.
27. Move the right foot to D to form a right walking stance toward D, while executing (full
facing) a middle wedging block with a knifehand.
28. While maintaining a right walking stance toward D, execute (reverse
half facing) a
circular block to BD with the left reverse knifehand.
29. Pull the
right foot toward the left foot to form a left rear foot stance toward D, while
executing a downward block (half facing) to D with an alternate palm.
30. Slip the right foot to D to form a left L-stance toward D, while executing
(half facing) a
middle front punch to D with the left forefist.
31. While shifting
to C and maintaining a left L-stance toward D, execute
(half facing) a low inward block to D with the right reverse knifehand, pulling the left side fist in front of the right
shoulder. Perform this move in a shifting motion.
32. Move the left
foot to D to form a left walking stance toward D, while
executing (full facing) a middle wedging block with a knifehand.
33. While maintaining a left walking stance toward D, execute (reverse
half facing) a circular
block to AD with the right reverse knifehand.
34. Pull the left foot toward the right foot to form a right rear foot stance toward
D, while executing a downward block (half facing) to D with an alternate palm.
35. Slip the left foot to D to form a right L-stance toward D, while executing (half facing) a
middle front punch to D with the right forefist.
36. While shifting to C and maintaining a right L-stance toward D, execute
(half facing) a
low inward block to D with the left reverse knifehand, pulling the right side fist
in front of the left shoulder. Perform this move in a shifting motion.
37. Execute a high
reverse turning kick to BD with the back heel of the right foot,
while holding the arms up naturally with both side fists
toward BD.

(half facing) a middle guarding block to D with the outer forearm.
39. Execute a high reverse turning kick to AD with the back heel of the left foot,

After completing the last movement, wait one move interval and then shout "Eui-Am" as though it were a "gi-hap."
Remain in the position of this last move until given the command to return to the ready position (ba-ro). END: When the command to return to the ready position (ba-ro)
is given, bring the right foot back to the left foot to form a close ready stance type D toward D. Remain
in this stance until given the at-ease command (swi-eot).
